Nokia N95 8GB Features
The Nokia N95 8GB is the successor to the hugely popular N95 Original. It is one of the most fully featured phones available packing several full featured gadgets into one phone including a 5MP Carl Zeiss Camera with DVD quality video recording capability, GPS Navigation, MP3 player and a range of wireless connectivity options including WLAN, Bluetooth, Infra Red, Quadband GSM, WCDMA and HSDPA.

Camera
- The N95 8GB has a 5 megapixel, auto-focus Carl Zeiss camera. The image file sizes range from around 400kb for low res to 1.4mb for full 5mp resolution. With the 8GB internal memory that’s enough to store around 6,000 high res images.
- The camera is fully featured with a wide range of settings including different scene modes, macro, ISO settings etc and has its own flash.
- On top of the still image capabilities, the N95 8GB can record videos at VGA[640x480] resolution, at 30fps frame rate, producing DVD quality video.
- Another nifty feature is the 3.5mm multifunctional jack – you can use this with the supplied cables to connect to a TV to playback photos, videos or even games.
Internet & Web Browsing
- Connecting to the internet is done either through built in WIFI or using a mobile network data connection . The phone supports 3.5G so if your network is capable of it, you can browse the web at broadband speeds.
- Nokia’s web browser is one of the best browsers available for mobile phones. It is extremely user friendly and displays pages as you would view them on a normal PC. You also have the option of shrinking pages down so that they fit on the smaller screen.
Music Player & Radio
- The N95 8GB has built in stereo speakers that work surprisingly well. You also have a normal 3.5mm multifunctional jack for standard headphones, a useful feature as most Nokia phone previously required the use of a proprietary connector. There is also Bluetooth Wireless Stereo A2DP support.
- Standard FM radio is available as well as Nokia’s new internet radio allowing you to listen to a huge number of radio stations from around the world.
GPS
- The N95 8GB is only one of a handful of phones with built in GPS. The N95 8GB uses Nokia’s Assisted GPS technology, which sends the handset location hints over the network to compensate for weak satellite signals resulting in faster and improved GPS positioning compared to the N95 original.
- The phone comes bundled with Nokia’s own mapping software which allows you to download maps for different countries as required. The phone can also be used with more popular navigation software such as TomTom and Route 60.
Gaming
- The N95 8GB includes Nokia’s N-Gage gaming system, which will provide an online gaming community and game download service when it goes live shortly. It comes bundled with demo versions of FIFA 07 and Asphalt 3 which show off the incredible 3D graphics that this phone offers.
Connectivity & Storage
- The 8GB onboard storage is enough for thousands of pictures and songs. It also doubles up as extra RAM for the phone so in effect the phone will never run out of memory allowing you to run as many programs as you like.
- Connectivity options for this phone are wide and varied. The phone uses a standard mini-usb cable to connect to a PC doing away with the traditional Nokia pop ports and cables. You can also connect via Bluetooth or infra red.
Conclusion
The N95 8GB is one the most fully featured phones available, it does away with the need to carry a separate camera, MP3 player and navigation unit. With the improvements made on the original N95, there is no doubt whatsoever that this is the best smart phone nokia have ever produced.
